Booking Through Thursday: But, Who’s Counting?

1. How many books would you say you read in an average month?

An average month in which year? I’ve been keeping a record of the books I’ve read for the last three years, and the numbers have been steadily climbing. But so far this year, an average month has included twelve books.

2. In a year?

Again, it depends on the year. 2004: 128. 2005: 163. 2006: 178. 2007, if I continue at the current rate: 144. Definitely into triple figures.

3. Over the last 5 years?

Probably close to 600.

4. The last 10?

A lot!

Hi! I see you are listening to books too. I love it because I can "read" more than one book at a time! You have phenomenal book reading rates!

Your reading rate is awesome... It's nice to see someone else who reads a ton (I'm starting to feel like an oddball).

Mine's up here.

I'm starting to realize that people read lot more than me in the last 5 or 10 years LOL! I know I read lot of books too but just can't really figure out how many. Just so glad I been keeping track in the last 2 years though :)

Great that you love to read as much as I do! Happy Booking Through Thursday! WOW you kept record since 2001! And that is alot of books reading! Very impressed. I wish I can remember mine in the last 5 and 10 years. But am sure I read lot too, but maybe more less than you.

Happy Booking Through Thursday! Here is Mine!

Wow, I'm so impressed with how many books you read! I used to think that I read a fair amount, but after visiting several participants today, I do see that I am not reading nearly as much as some others! I read 70 last year and thought that was a huge, whopping total for me. To read over a hundred in a year would be awesome :)

Hope you have a great day, and Happy Reading!

P.S. I want to try a Phillipa Gregory book, but haven't gotten one from my library yet. Have you read other books by her, other than your current one of "The Virgin's Lover?" If so, which one would you recommend for me to try first?! :) Thanks!

One of my fantasies is to read 100 or more books a year. I've never even gotten out of the 70s. You're my hero!

Another speedy reader! I am happy if I can read a book a week, though last year I read a bit more than that and was quite happy.

I can see I've impressed a few people! I actually surprised myself last year. And even more remarkable than the amount I read is that I still manage to pass my classes!

Stacy: The Virgin's Lover is part of a series about the Tudor royals. The first book is The Other Boleyn Girl (which I haven't read), followed by The Boleyn Inheritance, The Queen's Fool, The Virgin's Lover (which I have read or am reading) and The Constant Princess. She also writes contemporary novels, though I haven't read any of those.

I'm impressed too! I usually average 80-90 books a year. Anyway, very cool.
